Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS)

The Cisco UCS data center platform unites compute, network, and storage access. Optimized for

virtualization, the Cisco UCS integrates a low-latency, lossless 10 GB Ethernet unified network fabric with

enterprise-class, x86-based servers (the Cisco B series).

Vblock systems contain a number of Cisco UCS 5100 Series Blade Server Chassis. Each chassis can contain

up to eight half-width Cisco UCS B-Series Blade Servers or four full-width blades. In Vblock systems, each

chassis also includes Cisco UCS fabric extenders and Cisco UCS B-Series Converged Network Adapters.
